About The Doctor

Dr. Barry Merkley graduated University of Toronto medical school in 1990 following an undergraduate degree in microbiology and molecular genetics. He completed a residency in family medicine at Wellesley Hospital. Since 1992 he has practiced family medicine with a focus on HIV primary care in central Toronto. He has served on the Ontario Advisory Committee on HIV/AIDS and is active in clinical research. He joined the Maple Leaf Medical team in September 2005.
