Megan AcsaiMegan was born and raised in Toronto.  She completed an Honours Bachelor of Science at McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario before earning her medical degree in 2007 at the University of Western Ontario.  She moved to Vancouver to do her residency in Family Medicine at St Paul's Hospital.  After completing residency in June 2009, she did a fellowship in HIV care at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.  She returned to Toronto in July 2010 to build a general family practice with a focus on HIV primary care.  She also works as an associate physician at Casey House.

Benny ChangBenny received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1992. His postgraduate training in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto was completed in 1994. He is a Certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been in private practice since the summer of 1994. Fred received his medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 1998, and did his residency training in Toronto at St Michael's Hospital. It was here that Fred focused on HIV and inner city medicine.

Since completing his residency in 2000, his focus continues to be HIV primary care; however, he sought further specialization training in addiction medicine and is certified to prescribe methadone. He is currently principal investigator for clinical trials investigating new antiretroviral medications and is involved in several other research trials and educational programs led by colleagues. Fred also leads the endeavour aimed at providing MLMC with an electronic medical record database system.

David TilleyDavid Tilley comes from Halifax, and graduated from Dalhousie University Medical School in 1982. He has been in private practice since 1987 and has been treating HIV positive people since that time. David was a founding member of the Toronto HIV Primary Care Physicians' Group, an organization that was involved in political action and physician education surrounding HIV related issues. He has also been a co-investigator in many clinical trials over the years. Working with HIV positive refugees from Latin American countries has been an important part of Dr Tilley's practice.

Jason Brunetta hails from St. Albert, Alberta, and completed his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees in Edmonton. He went on to teach high school for three years before returning to the University of Calgary to complete his Medical Degree. His residency in Family Medicine was in Toronto, and then he moved to practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. He has since returned to Ontario and now practices family medicine along with HIV primary care. He is a certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Dr. Brunetta is also actively involved in research, and participates in the education of future physicians by acting as an examiner for the Medical Council of Canada.

Graham SmithOriginally from Montreal, Graham received his medical degree from McGill University where he first became involved with the care of people living with HIV and AIDS. A year in Paris 1991 allowed him to complete an additional year of training in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine. Upon his return to Montreal, he joined the McGill AIDS Centre and mixed both clinic care and clinical research with a special interest in the treatment of advanced HIV disease. In 1999, he returned to McGill to complete a Master's degree in Epidemiology and since then, has been involved with numerous research projects. After a move to Toronto, Graham joined Maple Leaf Medical Clinic where he is involved with Family Practice, HIV/AIDS care and clinical research.

Colin KovacsDr. Colin Kovacs completed his medical degree in 1983 and an Emergency Medicine Fellowship in 1989 with sub-specialty training in Traumatology and Toxicology. His post graduate training included specialty training in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine. He has held an ongoing academic position with the University of Toronto since 1989 with both the Division of Emergency Medicine and more recently, the Division of Infectious Diseases. He has held an active membership in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons since 1989. Colin has practiced HIV/AIDS clinical care since 1994. He has engaged in clinical and investigator driven research since the mid-1990's with collaborators throughout Canada and abroad, including agencies as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), John Hopkins University, University of Pittsburgh, New York Medical, Harvard University, McGill University and University of Toronto. Current research includes a special interest in immunopathogenesis, persistence of HIV infection, issues of reservoirs and latency, acute seroconversion and therapeutic vaccine trials.

Erika BenkoErika received her registered nursing license in 1982 in Hungary and her Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT) Certification in 1992.

Prior to joining Maple Leaf Medical Clinic in January 2009, Erika worked for a number of years at Credit Valley Family Physician's Practice in Mississauga, Ontario. She started her research career at ARI – Cetero Research in the Quality Control department and in Clinical Trial Management.

Dr. Mona LoutfyDr. Loutfy completed her Internal Medicine Residency in 1999 and her Infectious Diseases Fellowship in 2001 at the University of Toronto. She did a Master's of Public Health at Harvard's School of Public Health in 2002 and a CIHR Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at McGill University from 2002-204. She is now an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto where she focuses on clinical HIV research.

Dr. Loutfy is the Research Director at Maple Leaf Research and her clinical practice at the Maple Leaf Medical Clinic specializes in HIV in women, HIV in pregnancy, HIV in persons from endemic countries, salvage HIV therapy, simplification of HIV therapy and infectious diseases. In 2007 Mona joined Women's College as the Research Director for the Women and HIV Research Program.
